Are You In Need of a Haircut?

Aveda haircare Image
Is it time for a haircut? Are you not quite sure? Well, Riccardo Maggiore, renowned hairstylists and owner of Maggiore Salon in New York City has all the telltale signs on whether or not it’s time to redo your ’do.

Sign #1: Your hair has no volume. If your hair is beginning to look flat, dull, boring—it’s time to take action! Hair without volume doesn’t frame the face or enhance your natural, gorgeous features.

Sign #2: Hair color matches your skin tone. You’ve probably over-processed your hair color. You never want hair to match your skin tone exactly—it will completely wash you out! A quick makeover fix would be to add lowlights to give hair dimension and contrast.

Sign #3: You’re starting to resemble a broom due to split ends! If you’re having a major split end problem, your hair is probably very dry and brittle. To bring hair back to life, you’ll need a deep conditioning treatment and haircut!

Sign #4: You pull your hair into a ponytail all the time. An occasional ponytail is fine, but if you find yourself pulling it back all the time, that’s no fun! You should want to show off your gorgeous locks, if you don’t, you’re probably in a hair rut. A fresh haircut, layers or bangs—something to add movement and bounce—will have you more eager to wear it down.

Sign #5: You’re not receiving compliments on your hair anymore! If your closest friends and family don’t even have anything to say, it’s definitely time for a hair makeover.

Sign #6: You’re in a cookie-cutter crisis! Have you been treating your tresses at home with the same products since middle school? Is your hair looking blah versus ooh la la? Seek professional help! Have an expert stylist examine your tresses, create a customized treatment, and create a list of “must have” products, perfect for your hair.

The easiest way to keep current? Start with a precise, versatile haircut, then adjust your texture and color as often as you like!

If you are in need of a new haircut, contact Rizzieri Aveda School at 856-988-8600 x0 to get great hair services at affordable prices! You can check out the full selection of services through our website at www.rizzierischools.com.

“Train” Your Genes to Get Your Hair Color!

The Future of Hair Coloring?

Aveda Model
The title of this post has futuristic sci-fi world written all over it, but it’s not as far off as you think. Fear not! This concept does not involve a crazy procedure with lots of needles. It’s more like chemically coaxing your hair to color itself. Sounds impossible, right?

It’s not. A new study published in the American Chemical Society Journal examined the many potential benefits of nano-sized hair colorants. Composed of pigments that are 1/5000th the width of a single human hair, these nano substances can not only trap dye for longer lasting color but could possibly stimulate the genes to produce the same melanin pigment that colors hair naturally. This is bigger than just getting an awesome color. Future studies on this could lead to a solution that stops or even prevents gray hair. People won’t just be defying their age, they’ll be forgetting about it completely.

If you don’t want to wait for the future, and need your hair colored now, contact Rizzieri Aveda School at (856) 988-8600 x0 to schedule your seating at the Voorhees location!

2010 Trending Fall Hairstyles

Out with the old and in with the new. It is the perfect saying to describe the ever changing hairstyles and clothing trends that take place season to season. Hopeful tweens and trending college students look to magazines, TV shows and of course, their forever faithful hairstylist, for tips and tricks to create the perfect look for fall.

Trends for the fall of 2010 include:

Rich Solid Colors: Last year, many women found themselves streaking their hair with blonde and drastically changing themselves to be a blonde bombshell. Welcoming warm tones with an all over solid color is a classic look.

The Ponytail: Whether accessorized with a headband or incorporated into bangs, the ponytail has been carried over from last year to remain one of the top hairstyle fashion tips. The trend can be taken from casual to classy in a matter of seconds!

The Bob: From Victoria Beckham to Katie Homes, The Bob is still a popular haircut. New classic looks to The Bob are increasingly popular and offer a sheer look of determination.

Luxurious Waves: Great for an evening or daytime look, long luxurious waves are the perfect way to attain a more mature, sophisticated yet trendy look. Have fun with this trend and be sure to accessorize.

Layers:
Coupled with bangs, this classic trend helps to frame the face and offer volume when styled correctly. From short layers through the crown to long layers around the face, this hairstyle trend will never die, and there is a good reason why!
