Hats off to Aveda for its sustainable packaging! The Institute of Professional Packaging (IOPP), which annually recognizes laudable packaging with its Ameristar Awards, presented the 2009/2010 3M Sustainable Packaging Award to Aveda for it’s Light Elements styling jars.
Two of Aveda’s styling products are featured in high-density polyethylene (HDPE) jars that use 99% post-consumer recycled content, which are then packaged in cartons with 80% recycled content and fibers certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.
