- Practical experience, the application of your knowledge.
- Methods of teaching building teaching skills that are vital for your success.
Each phase of your education will emphasize a different combination of these approaches:
You will start by learning the fundamental methods of teaching, state board requirements of cutting, styling, and chemical restructuring of hair, skin, nails, and related sciences. Lecture, demonstration, and workshops concentrate on developing teaching skills and accuracy, and are designed to reinforce classroom instruction. You will be introduced to lesson planning, developing instructional objectives, evaluation, and it affects the group learning environments.
The New Jersey Board of Education requires that training be based upon requirements of the State Board of Cosmetology. This unit covers the State Board regulations and will prep you for the State Board Testing. This course includes state laws, sanitation and sterilization, cutting, styling, chemical restructuring of hair, skin care, nail care, and chemistry.
At this point, you will have the competency required for the skill certification examination as well as the theoretical knowledge needed to pass the written examination required by the New Jersey State Board. Your career in education is ready to begin.
